🎃 The Temptation of Treats

Before we dive into this week’s focus on self-love, let’s talk about what’s right in front of us—Halloween weekend.

If you live in the U.S., you know what that means: bowls of candy at the office, treat bags at the door, and the annual whisper of “just one more.”

Halloween is a fun, nostalgic celebration—costumes, laughter, and community—but it’s also a minefield for anyone trying to stay mindful around food.

You’re not alone if you feel torn between wanting to enjoy the season and dreading the sugar crash that follows.

So this weekend, I invite you to do something different: empower yourself instead of restricting yourself.

Here’s how to practice self-love during a season of sweets:

 💖 Pause Before You Reach. Ask, “Do I really want this—or do I just want a break, comfort, or connection?”

 🍬 Pick Your Favorite. Choose one treat you truly enjoy, and savor it slowly. Let it melt, taste every layer, and notice how your body feels.

🌬️ Take a Breath Between Bites. This helps your body register fullness and keeps you connected to the moment.

 😌 Release the Guilt. Food is not the enemy. Judgment is. One piece of candy does not undo your progress—it’s the way you show up that matters most.

This Halloween, let’s redefine what it means to “treat yourself.”

You deserve sweetness—in your food and in how you speak to yourself.
