When the World Feels Too Loud ... JUST BREATHE ...
The news cycle seems to spin faster every day—conflict, politics, disasters. No wonder so many of us feel wired and weary. Our bodies pick up on that stress. Cortisol rises, hunger hormones surge, and suddenly we’re in the pantry looking for comfort food we didn’t plan to eat.
First, please remember: you are okay. Your worth isn’t measured by today’s headlines or by last night’s snack. Your body is simply trying to soothe itself the way it knows how.
What if, instead of feeding stress with food or 24-hour news, we took a different path?
Turn off the ticker. Give yourself a daily “news fast,” even if it’s just the last hour before bed.
Ground your senses. A five-minute walk, deep breathing, or mindful sipping of tea can reset a racing mind.
Name what you need. Sometimes it’s connection, sometimes rest. Food is only one kind of nourishment.
Let’s remind ourselves that peace starts inside. Step back from the noise, honor your body’s signals, and choose one small calming action today. You’re stronger than the chaos around you—and you deserve a calmer, kinder way to cope.
